Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact…. — William James

2019—2023

I am an aspiring philosopher currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado Boulder. I received my BA in Philosophy from Reed College in 2023.

I was born and raised in Beijing, China. In 2015, I moved to Concord, MA for high school. I first encountered Albert Camus’s famous assertion “One must imagine Sisyphus happy” during my junior year there. It has been a love affair ever since. In 2019, I moved to Portland, OR to pursue my undergraduate degree in Philosophy. I call all three cities my home.

Currently, my areas of interest are applied ethics, moral psychology, and environmental ethics. I am particularly invested in the concept of blame and moral motivation. In my free time, I enjoy playing squash, skiing, jogging, reading (and sometimes writing) poetry, and wine tasting.
